We start with Aerosoft, which showcased new screenshots of the upcoming de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter.

The last image in the gallery below is a small tease of the VDGS systems in the works for Brussels Airport (EBBR) in Belgium, also in the works at Aerosoft.

Next comes ATSimulations, which confirmed that the Antonov An-2 has slipped into 2022 due to delays in the licensing process, providing a development update.

Much appreciation for your patience, for sure you are news-hungry, so here they are: It’s not a secret since time ago that ATS Antonov An-2 project was redone for MSFS together with Microsoft and Asobo. It was hard work starting with 3d scanning of the real HA-ABD, tons of photos, and sounds re-record. Then guys did a miracle redone 3d model in ten times more polygons the old FSX model in a very short time period. Under Asobo’s supervision I did the new code, with all-new FS interactive features implemented, but with the keep of old systems and gauges code logic which was checked and tested by years in FSX and P3D. Alexander M. Metzger did update flight dynamics. The project was tested hard by professional testers with real An-2 pilots involved.

So actually we are only one step from the release. This step is licensing which is obviously very important for Microsoft. They are in conversation with Antonov corp. dynamics is positive, but unfortunately, this couldn’t be solved in 2021, so the project is transferring into 2022.

We also get the announcement of two aircraft that will be released in the first half of 2022, the Max Holste MH.1521 Broussard and Cessna O-1 Bird Dog, while two more projects have been mentioned but not disclosed.

Last, but not least, Drzewiecki Design announced another airport for its series in Poland, and it’s Bydgoszcz Ignacy Jan Paderewski Airport (EPBY). It’s the eleventh busiest airport in Poland, served by LOT and Ryanair.

Recently, we published our latest interview with head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann and we heard more about Microsoft’s plans for the next few months, including World Update Australia.
