Microsoft Flight Simulator Cape Town Revealed by Orbx; Kraków, Nelson, & Rothera Airports Get Screenshots & Video

Today third-party developers shared quite a lot of interesting news and assets about upcoming scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

We start with Orbx, which goes to South Africa with one of its City Packs. Cape Town has been revealed today

Below you can catch a features list and a gallery of screenshots. And yes, it’ll come with physical helipads for the helicopter pilots out there.

• Several high-detail custom landmarks including the Cape Town Stadium, Castle of Good Hope, and University of Cape Town 
• More than 110 medium-detail custom landmarks, balancing quality and performance.
• Many enhancements to the city and surrounding areas: improved vegetation and building placements, industrial areas and power stations, chimneys, etc.
• Specific focus on the harbour areas, with a with diversity of custom vessels and port infrastructure
• Extensive terraforming across the coverage area, enhancing how our custom landmarks sit within the simulator’s terrain
• Custom orthoimagery covering all of the city from the western bays to Rondebosch in the east
• Custom night lighting based on real-world photography
• Anti-poaching campaign “laser” rhino projected onto Table Mountain at night (selectable with control panel)

Next, we stay down under with new images of Nelson Airport (NZNS) in New Zealand provided by NZA Simulations.

The airport is in its beta phase, so it should come soon enough.

Moving to the Northern hemisphere, Drzewiecki Design showcased more screenshots of its upcoming John Paul II Kraków-Balice International Airport (EPKK) in Poland.

Last, but not least, we go back down under, and I mean really down under, more precisely to Antarctica, where a new video shows Rothera Air Facility (EGAR), which was teased a while ago and will be released under Aerosoft’s umbrella.
