The company involved in this story is Zenrin, leading Fukuoka-based provider of mapping software and map publisher.

Nowadays video games have become such a prominent part of people’s lives that even companies that have nothing to do with gaming can ill afford to ignore them. 

As you can see in the tweets below, someone from the company surveyed the game’s setting (Isezaki Ijincho, loosely based on real-life Yokohama) while playing as Ichiban Kasuga on PS4, and they used real-life techniques to create a map that has the same degree of realism compared to those usually provided by the company. 

I guess we’ll have a further tool to help us enjoy the game as it releases in the west later this year for PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC
