Here’s Everything Revealed in Today’s September Nintendo Direct

Today’s Nintendo Direct was a short but stacked 35 minutes of awesome, with even a few 3DS announcements to kick things off, although most of the Direct was focused on the Switch.

Animal Crossing Switch
After a nice (very mean) switcheroo from Nintendo, which turned out to be a different announcement, Nintendo then pulled a double reverse and in fact revealed a new Animal Crossing would be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019. There’s not really anything in the way of details, but we got to see a high definition Tom Nook, which will suffice.


Civilization VI
Many people saw this one last week, but here it was officially announced: Civilization VI is coming to the Nintendo Switch! 2K will be publishing the popular RTS on November 16 of this year.


Isabelle for Super Smash Bros. Switch
The first part of the aforementioned switcheroo by Nintendo, this fake out turned to not be the new Animal Crossing after all, but instead an announcement of Isabelle from Animal Crossing: New Leaf as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Of note here is that although similar to the Villager character, Isabelle is not an echo fighter.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima
One of several Final Fantasy announcements to come from today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, World of Final Fantasy Maxima will be hitting the Switch soon, on November 6, 2018. Details were sparse, but we do know about the new feature Avatar Change, which should please fans of the FF series. Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Everybuddy
A new entry into the series after a quiet few years, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Everybuddy is a dungeon crawler in which players will take control of different Chocobo, with partially procedurally generated dungeons and co-op. This title will be coming to the Switch and the PS4 some time this winter.

Town
Town is a new game from Pokemon developers Game Freak. The game is a turn-based RPG, but unlike Game Freak’s very popular series about monsters you keep in your pocket, Town has monsters that are very unfriendly. Players will have to stop the monsters from destroying their village and can summon other villagers for help. Town is set for a 2019 relesae.

NES Switch Controllers
During the Nintendo Direct, the new Online Switch service was talked about, and that segment included some NES controllers to go with the classic games included.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Exclusives
Smash Switch Bundle
A special Smash Bros. Ultimate branded Switch is coming out to go along with the game, and the new Pro Controller. This console comes with a Smash dock, as well as branded Joy-Cons. This Switch comes in a bundle with the digital version of the new Smash Bros.df


Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Even more Final Fantasy: FF XI: The Zodiac Age is coming to the Switch. Clearly this Nintendo Direct was heaven for Final Fantasy fans!

Catan Universe
Tabletop Games from Asmodee
Asmodee had a surprising amount of things to announce today, all tabletop games. Catan, Carcassonne, and others are all right here.


Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD
Square Enix frankly got outta pocket today. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition was not only announced today, but came out right after the Nintendo Direct.


More Star Fox Content in Starlink
Starlink had some more Star Fox crossover content announced today. Not only stages themed around Star Fox, but Star Wolf will be appearing in the title. Lots of stars in this one.

Yoshi’s Crafted World finally got a title and tentative release window of Spring 2019.

Mario Tennis Aces
Mario Tennis Aces update Ver. 2
Mario Tennis Aces is getting 4 new characters, a new mode, and new cosmetic items.

Cities: Skylines
Cities: Skylines
Another surprise announce and release from the Nintendo Direct, Cities: Skylines is a city sim game that is available now on Switch!


Capcom Beat em’ up Bundle
Capcom brought a bundle of 7 classic beat-em-ups to the Direct, 2 of which are new to Switch, and they all support local and online co-op. These games release on September 18.

Luigi's Mansion 3
Luigi’s Mansion 3
A quick but big surprise, Luigi’s Mansion 3 was announced for some time in 2019 for the Switch.


Katamari Damacy Reroll
One of the most recognizable games of all time, Katamari Damacy is getting a and HD remake. Praise the King of All Cosmos.

New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe
New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U are being combined to make a deluxe package for the Switch, with all the previous content and two new characters.


Splatoon 2 Ver 4 Update
A good amount of info was revealed about the new Splatoon 2 update, including details about Pro Mode.


Kirby’s EXTRA Epic Yarn
An enhanced version of Kirby’s Epic Yarn has been stitched together, and it’s called Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn (not quite pictured above.)
