While Yakuza: Like a Dragon (also-known-as Yakuza 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness in Japan) will be set mostly in the new area of Isezaki Ichinjo in Yokohama, you’ll still be able to go to Kamurocho.
One of the activities performed there is the local branch of Dragon Kart, a minigame that you could define a more violent and Yakuza-like version of Mario Kart.
To be specific, there are four Dragon Kart Gran Prix, and by winning you can advance to the next level. The ultimate and most challenging Gran Prix is called “Dragon Cup” and it’s set in Kamurocho.
In order to compete in the Dragon Cup you’ll need to upgrade your kart considerably and refine your racing techniques.
Ichiban will begin his path towards the Dragon Cup in Yokohama, where a man named Fujisawa will invite him to take part in the races.
Our hero will then have to face a variety of colorful rival, including a masked wrestler.
Tracks include gimmicks and obstacles like jump ramps, explosive drums, dirt zones that slow you down, damage zones where you get electrocuted. They make the races more exciting giving the players more ways to win (or lose).
By spending money it’s possible to upgrade your cart, the charges of items, or the ammo of weapons you carry. Each Kart has different performance and durability, so customization can personalize them even further.
You can also play online posting your best time in the multiplayer leaderboards. At the end of each day a ranking is finalized, and you will receive rewards the day after depending on how you placed.
