Warzone Season 4 Reloaded changed Vondel’s key chain considerably. Barring any undetected changes (which we wouldn’t rule out with DMZ), it’s remained the same following the Season 5 update. Resultantly, there’s massively increased clamor for the Buoyant House Key. Here’s how to get it and where to use it in DMZ.
How To Get the Buoyant House Key in DMZ
There’s a huge number of keys in DMZ, a large number of which were introduced with Season 4 and Vondel. Season 5 changed a lot in the extraction mode too, but it largely centered on the Konni Group rather than tweaks to Vondel’s key chain.
Like most keys, you can earn the one for the Buoyant House in a couple of different ways. We’ll detail each below, as well as letting you know the best.
Explore & Loot
Easily the most unreliable method, the key can be acquired via looting and exploring. Players might stumble across it in clothes, caches, bags or crates. It’ll likely take you a lot of searching though, with keys in general pretty rare.
Dark Water Mission
The first guaranteed method to get the Buoyant House Key is by completing the Dark Water Mission. It’s a Tier 3 Mission in the Phalanx Faction. It’s a set of objectives that aren’t the most complex but are pretty time consuming. They are:
- Find a Rebreather.
- Find the Cartel Warehouse Key From the Eastern-Most Sunken Ship in Al Mazrah.
- Find and Extract the Cartel Laptop From the Warehouse.

Stage Bag
The third way (and second guaranteed) of getting the Buoyant House Key is to open one of the two Stage Bags in Vondel. Naturally, these require the Stage Bag Key.
After Season 4 Reloaded’s key changes, that’s the preceding key in the chain and, every single time they’re opened, will yield the Buoyant House Key and a GPU.
The location of the first is shown in the image below, in map grid E2. You’re searching for a Duffel Bag at the back of the stage. It’ll be easy to spot when you’re nearby.
The second is located in Vondel’s west, just north of the Fire Department. You’re searching for an identical stage and bag, this time in map grid C5.
This second one is typically harder to reach, with there being a lot of enemy AI stationed in the vicinity. Ensure you head over there with armor and healing items to avoid being caught short.
Where To Use the Buoyant House Key
The House itself, where you use the key, is located in map grid C7 and is a floating house patrolled by enemy AI. The image below shows it highlighted on the Vondel map, within the Floating Districts POI and map grid C7:
There are usually enemies patrolling the area to the north of the house, so we found success in taking a boat and reaching it from the south. There were less AI to combat and we were able to loot up in the quieter areas.
The image below shows you how it looks in-game. There’s an entrance around the back, requiring players to access a walkway:
Inside there’s a few orange crates to work through and, upstairs, the Veterinarian Key. This’ll unlock the Animal Care Room in the Zoo POI, which is crucial to completing the Researcher’s Dilemma mission and progressing, both in the Black Mous Faction and DMZ itself.
