Today SNK announced the western release date for PS4 and Xbox One of Samurai Shodown.
The game will launch in North America and Europe on June 25, actually two days before the Japanese release on June 27.
On top of that, those who will pre-order or purchase the game (PSN, Xbox Live or any physical retailer ) before June 30 will receive the season pass for free.
In case you’re unfamiliar with it, the season pass will offer four unannounced playable characters. This is certainly a nice deal considering that it’ll allow early adopters to sit back and relax while new characters are simply delivered to them at no additional cost.
SNK President Koichi Toyama commented on the announcement:
“We’re extremely excited to finally confirm that June 25th will see the much-anticipated return of Samurai Shodown – one of the founding figures of the fighting genre.
As a thank you to the fans who have stuck with us during the long wait between the franchise installments, we’re pleased to offer the first 6 months of DLC completely free of charge to anyone who buys the game and redeems the game’s season pass within the first week of release, which will include four new fighters.”

Samurai Shodown will also release for PC and Switch, and those versions are coming in winter 2019.
