Best Kastov 762 Loadout in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3

The Kastov 762 is the AK47 of old.

The old guard has been left behind as we move further into Season 1 of Warzone and MW3. But there is some fight in the last-generation weaponry that desire one last chance to stand at the top. The Kastov 762, otherwise known as the AK47, is one such weapon, let’s take a look at its best loadout and discover whether it can contend with the new pack leaders.

The revamped AK47 was released in MW2 to explosive popularity, it dominated high levels of play through the entirety of Warzone 2. But now times have changed and we are faced with revamped systems and outdated weapons. It can be compared to weapons like the MTZ-556 and RAM-7 for fire rate and damage. The Kastov 762 has surprisingly decent TTK but suffers heavily due to its recoil and heavy kick. However, thanks to the gunsmith we can leash this beast and tame it under our control… mostly.

  • Muzzle: Bore-490
  • Barrel: KAS-10 584MM Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support Grip
  • Optic: Corio Eagleseye 2.5X
  • Magazine: 40 Round Magazine

First and foremost the Kastov is an old gen weapon meaning its recoil needs to be addressed, so we use the Bore-490 and pair it with the Bruen Heavy Support Grip. Together they mitigate a significant amount of bounce from the Kastov’s recoil, however, it is still not perfect and can be compared to the BAS-B in kick. Next up the KAS-10 Barrel to give us some extra range and stopping power for long Warzone fights.

Our optic of choice is surprisingly the Corio Eagleseye 2.5X. In testing, we found that this optic worked well despite the gun kick of the Kastov 762. To tie off the loadout we use the 40 Round Magazine for extended fights and the ability to take down entire enemy squads.

Best Kastov 762 Perks

Below we have our recommended perk package that should be used for Warzone in general and isn’t indicative of the weapon in the loadout. However, feel free to swap out any perks for your preference.

The best perks are as follows:

  • Perk 1: Sleight of Hand
  • Perk 2: Double Time
  • Perk 3: Tempered
  • Perk 4: High Alert

Sleight of Hand’s faster reload time may be crucial due to the Kastov’s lower bullet count than most Assault Rifles. A must-have perk for Warzone is Double Time, there is no justification to now run this passive in the BR environment.

Tempered offers us a unique ability to plate up 33% quicker than opponents while needing almost 33% fewer plates than any other squad. You’ll find so much more bag space for other gadgets like smokes or grenades. Finally, High Alert is a wonderful pick as it can simultaneously save your life and give you much-needed information on enemy positions.

MW3 is knee-deep in mobility, especially with the new movement mechanics that were introduced to create a fluid and fast-paced environment. Due to this shift, we need to compensate and tweak our Kastov 762 so that it can keep up with the speedsters.

  • Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
  • Barrel: 342MM Sakin KL
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Pivot Vertical Grip
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip

Keeping us off the minimap is incredibly important in MW3 as one shot from an unsuppressed barrel will light up your location to the entire lobby. Thankfully, the VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor also affords us a range increase too. Due to the extra range we received from our suppressor we can utilize the mobility-focused 342MM Sakin KL barrel for extra speed, which we double by using the True-Tac Grip.

Finally, we need some help with recoil control so we use the Bruen Pivot Vertical Grip to minimize the Kastov’s heavy bounce. Then to top it all off we use the Slate Reflector optic for a clean and uncluttered sight.

Best Kastov 762 Perks

Perks are the cherry on top of a loadout, you’re guns are sorted, your equipment is primed and ready, and all you need now is to select passive abilities to help you achieve a certain game plan.

The best Perks are as follows:

  • Vest: Infantry Vest
  • Gloves: Commando Gloves
  • Boots: Covert Sneakers
  • Gear: EOD Padding

The best Vest right now is undoubtedly the Infantry Vest, it offers faster Tac Sprint duration and recharge so you can blitz your way through the maps like an unstoppable force. With the Commando Gloves, we can reload while sprinting which can often result in you dodging a death or completely outplaying an opponent.

Covert Sneakers remove combat noise for sneaky plays and EOD Padding protects you from random grenades or killstreaks heading your way.
