Today Sega sent a press release with new screenshots and details of its upcoming game Shin Sakura Taisen, code-named in the west Project Sakura Wars.
This time around we take a look at the World Floral Revue Tournament, that plays a central role in the story of the game.
The tournament involves 3 vs. 3 team battles, letting players decides which members they want to bring along depending on their abilities and personal preference.
Matches don’t have teams fight directly against each other. Instead, they are prompted to destroy target enemies.
During a round, you earn points depending on how many target enemies you obliterate, and those points are reflected in a tug-of-war-style gauge at the top of the screen.
If the gauge reaches one of the edges or if the time expires, the team with more points wins the round. Winning two rounds means bringing home the whole match.
Enemies appear in various places of the map, at times even in more than one location at once. They also disappear after a certain amount of time. It’s important to get to them before the opposing team to score more points.
Occasionally, golden enemy target appear, and those yield bonus point, so you should prioritize them.
Even during the tournament, story events continue to happen, letting the player enjoy interactions with team members and rivals.
