Cyberpunk 2077 – You May Be Able to Drive Flying Vehicles in Story Missions

In Cyberpunk 2077 you own cars and motorbikes, but there are flying vehicles on the game. A natural question is whether you can actually drive them around Night City yourself.

The topic came up as we interviewed CD Projekt RED producer Richard Borzymowsky today at Gamescom. We were talking about a helicopter that appears in the latest demo gunning down someone in an apartment building far  in the background.

Borzymowsky took the chance to talk about flying vehicles.

“When it comes to actually driving vehicles, we have cars in the game, we have motorcycles in the game, and players can own those vehicles and store them in their garage.

But when it comes to flying vehicles, we’re just doing that in dedicated story missions.”

Asked to clarify, Borzymoswski explained.

“There are flying vehicles in the universe, and we’re using them in the right part of the story”

At this point I had to ask to make sure “Can we drive them?” Borzymoswski answered:

“In the story maybe, you will have to have to find out.”

While this isn’t a full-fledged confirmation, it’s certainly a lot better than a flat-out “no.”
