Today Square Enix released a brand new video focusing on the creation of Final Fantasy XIV’s latest expansion, Shadowbringers.

The video focuses on the creation of Norvrandt, Shadowbringers’ brand new setting that was added side-by-side to the game’s existing setting.

We hear from art team lead Takeo Suzuki, background artist Masato Shida, and lead level designer Arata Takahashi, making this a good chance to hear from members of the development team that don’t get under the spotlight often.

You can check it out below. Do keep in mind that you should turn subtitles on to understand what is said (unless you speak Japanese, of course).

In case you missed it, you can also watch the first episode focusing on the story.

If you’d like to learn more about Final Fantasy XIV, you can read our recent interview with Naoki Yoshida and Banri Oda,  our review of Shadowbringers.

Incidentally, we have info on the Little Ladies’ Day seasonal event, a deeper look at the game’s art, and more info on upcoming content.

A few weeks ago we also learned that the game has passed 18 million registered users.

You can then enjoy the report on our latest visit to the Eorzea Cafe in Tokyo, one  about the latest orchestra concert, and our look at the recent uniqlo collaboration.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PS4 and PC. Last month, Xbox boss Phil Spencer pledged to help bring the game to Xbox One as well.
