We meet two new characters who are also the hero’s childhood friends, Elaine Auclair and René Kincaid.

Elaine is 24 and fights with a Knightly Sword. She’s the youngest in the Calvard Bracer Guild to have achieved the A-Class rank.

She bears the nickname “Sword Maiden” and being elegant, dignified, and beautiful, she often makes the news in the Republic. Apparently she has also been offered roles as a model and actress.

After graduating from a prestigious school, she choose the way of the sword and learned traditional swordsmanship, accumulating remarkable achievements both domestically, and abroad.

When Van, who was a former childhood friend with whom she had spent her school days, returned to the capita Elaine’s heart fluttered when he opted to take a job that could put them in conflict.

René is 25 and flights with a Military Pistol. He’s an agent working for the CID, Central Intelligence Department.

Working under a talented boss, he has done well in the Department, handling a large number of cases on a daily basis while reliably collecting information among the locals.

He has the aura of a man who can get things done and many female colleagues are certainly impressed by his smart looks and style.

He was disappointed when his childhood friend Van started to work as a Spriggan, but they quickly reached an agreement in order to take advantage of each other’s skills and connections. On the other hand, when Elaine joined the Bracers Guild, he supported her, and even after becoming a CID agent, he approves of her activity.

We then take a deeper look at the L.G.C. Alignment system, that stands for Law, Grey, Chaos.

Those three attributes will vary depending on Van’s actions decided by the player. This will also change the development of the story and who are his allies and enemies after the middle point of the game.

On top of that, other characters may approve or disapprove of these choices. If your Law attribute the highest, you will cooperate with the Bracers Guild. If your Chaos or Grey attribute are highest, perhaps you’ll take the side of those who would otherwise be your enemies?

The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki is the next game of the Trails series. It’ll release in Japan on September 30, 2021, for PS4. At the moment, no additional platforms have been hinted at, even if Trails games do tend to get ports down the line.

No western release has been announced for now (and probably we shouldn’t expect that announcement too soon), but you can also check out the first screenshots and more details, the second gallerya thirdthe first gameplaymore footage, and even more gameplay.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
