The trailer introduces another of the playable characters that we’ll find in the game, Date Masam… ahem… Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, including both gameplay and cutscenes. It’s the latest of a series of trailers introducing several characters, on top of Ichigo HitofuriNamazuo ToushirouHyuuga MasamuneHeshikiri HasebeYagen Toushirou, Tomoegata Naginata, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga.

He’s voiced by Takuya Sato, whom you probably know as Alphen in Tales of Arise, Abel in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, Machias Regnitz in Trails of Cold Steel, and many more characters mostly fitting the cool guy trope.

You can check the trailer out below.

Here’s how Koei Tecmo officially describes Touken Ranbu Warriors. You can also watch the latest gameplay trailer.

“Touken Ranbu Warriors features 15 characters from Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-, where famous swords take the form of warriors named Touken Danshi (swordsmen), and the elite fighters are sworn to protect history. In Touken Ranbu Warriors, members of Touken Danshi have been drifting through time without their master – the Saniwa – to lead them, when they are suddenly attacked by the fearsome History Retrograde Army (HRA). After the initial conflict, the Touken Danshi are approached by the Government of the Time, and sent on a mission into the war-torn Sengoku Era where the revision of Japanese history is already underway. Can the Touken Danshi heroes restore order while restoring the original timeline? The fierce but beautiful battles of the Touken Danshi are finally a reality!

The game is set to feature the electrifying musou action fans expect from a WARRIORS title including battling alongside partner characters and head-to-head duels against enemies! Touken Ranbu Warriors also features the “Honmaru,” the main base of our heroes. Here, you can freely place members of the Touken Danshi in order to get a glimpse of their daily lives that can only be experienced in this game.”

If you’re not familiar with the game, it was announced back in August by DMM and it’ll come west directly via Koei Tecmo on May 24, 2022. Touken Ranbu is a popular franchise based on a PC browser game mostly aimed at an audience of ladies in which the player travels to the past and collects legendary swords represented by handsome young men.

The franchise has sparked multiple anime series, a live-action movie, and other media.

This new game is developed by Omega Force, known for its work on Warriors games, and Ruby Party, Koei Tecmo’s otome games brand (Otome games are visual novels usually featuring harems of handsome men aimed to an audience of ladies, like Touken Ranbu).

At the moment, the game appears to be coming only for Switch in the west, the PC version in Japan uses DMM’s own client which is not available in North America and Europe.
