Today, during a livestream dedicated to Azur Lane from Japan, the host relayed an announcement from Compile Heart regarding the console game Azur Lane: Crosswave.
The announcement is simple but likely welcome for those who enjoy collecting more and more shipgirls into their fleets: DLC are coming.
While the content of the upcoming DLC has not been revealed, the very nature of the game pretty much leaves a ton of room for additional content.
This isn’t too surprising considering that Azur Lane: Crosswave enjoyed one of the most successful launches ever for Compile Heart in Japan, selling an estimated 33,763 units according to Famitsu, even beating Astral Chain to the first spot in the weekly chart.
It’s quite likely that the publisher is currently looking for every possible way to ride the wave, quite literally.
The success of the game in Japan also isn’t shocking, considering that Azur Lane has become extremely popular among mobile gamers, rivalling the popularity of the veteran blockbuster Kantai Collection.
Azur Lane: Crosswave launched the Japanese shelves on August 29, 2019, for PS4. A western release has recently been announced for 2020.
