We’re getting massive planetary caves designed so that they can be entered by vehicles or even starships, which is definitely interesting for the more daring pilots out there.

The second part of the video also showcases the upcoming mining components that will let players customize their mining experience.

In other Star Citizen news, the crowdfunding total passed $349 million today, and it’s currently at $349,021,395

The number of registered accounts recently passed three million, and it’s at 3,032,832 at the moment of this writing.

As usual, you should keep in mind that it’s known that not all of them are paying players. The number includes free accounts created for a variety of reasons, including Free Fly events and more.

We recently learned that 2020 was a record year for Star Citizen’s extremely successful crowdfunding campaign, shattering the previous record from 2019.

More insight about the game’s successful year and what can be expected going forward was shared by Cloud Imperium Games CEO Chris Roberts himself.

If you want to learn even more, we recently saw a really lovely cinematic trailer. On top of that, we heard that a new studio has been opened to create new systems and content for Star Citizen.

If you’re wondering whether the game is actually fun to play, this is a good place to start.

The game’s alpha is currently playable on PC, and a star-studded single-player campaign titled Squadron 42 is in development.

For the sake of full disclosure, do keep in mind that the author of this article has been a Star Citizen backer since the original Kickstarter campaign several years ago.
