10. Investigate the Ruins

Investigate the Ruins is the first Dungeon diving Quest you’ll have the opportunity to complete in Baldur’s Gate 3, taking place just a short walk from where you wake up on the beach. While this Quest is a great chance to get the hang of how Dungeons work, including loot, puzzles, and traps, this is not what makes Investigate the Ruins such a standout.

This Quest remains one of the best and most memorable tasks in the game, as it will let you gain access to Withers, a follower who will show up at your camp and allow you to revive dead companions, change and respec your Class, and purchase Hirelings. On top of this, you will also gain an Amulet that will allow you to cast Speak With the Dead, enabling you to gather extra information regarding the events of your adventure through conversations with corpses.

9. Investigate Kagha

Investigate Kagha is among the most memorable and intriguing Quests in Baldur’s Gate 3, and the first indicator to players that things in this game are often not as they seem; and many individuals will often have ulterior motives. Kagha is intense and harsh from the moment you first meet her, wanting to throw the Tiefling refugees out from the safety of the Grove.

However, upon further investigation, you can discover that the reasoning for this is that she has turned to the Shadow Druids for protection in Halsin’s absence. Though her methods were skewed, Kagha is rather intriguing as far as NPCs go, as despite being a villain (and undoubtedly evil), she ultimately intended to protect her people and the Grove. Plus, the Druid lore learned through this storyline is quite interesting, especially in terms of Shadow Druids, which makes it worth completing in full.

8. Save Mayrina

Save Mayrina is perhaps one of the most iconic Quests in the entire Baldur’s Gate 3 storyline, simply for the fact that it introduces you to the hag known as Auntie Ethel. Everything about this quest is brilliant, from Auntie Ethel’s hilariously diabolical one-liners, the Dungeon exploration of her Lair, witnessing the horrifying things she’s done to people, and of course, the combat. This is one of the best boss fights in the game, giving you a chance to get a permanent +1 buff to any stat of your choice during the encounter.

While you will have to drastically wound Auntie Ethel only to let her flee in this scenario, there’s no need to worry, as this isn’t the last you’ll see of her, and the next encounter will be even more satisfying. You might as well bring Mayrina to safety, convince Ethel to rip out some hair (literally), and then head out on your way with a backpack full of potions and knick-knacks looted from her lair.

7. Rescue the Tieflings

Rescue the Tieflings is a Quest given to you by Alfira at Last Light Inn during Act 2, where she reveals that the remainder of her Tiefling group was ambushed by the Cult of the Absolute and taken prisoner. While this can be a bit of a high-stakes Quest, as it involves you infiltrating Moonrie Towers, it is also one of the most rewarding Side Quests in the game. Not only will you receive one of the best Robes in the game from Alfira as a thank-you gift, but you’ll also get to witness a series of wholesome reunions and interactions. Protect the Tieflings at all costs.

6. Find the Blood of Lathander

Find the Blood of Lathander is an interesting Quest that unravels during the exploration of Rosymorn Monastery, combining the intriguing aspect of uncovering the lore and secrets of Faerun with the reward of a seriously valuable Weapon. This Side Quest involves solving some great puzzles that manage to be interesting without feeling impossible, and it can be completed during your visit to the Githyanki Creche.

This lets you effectively kill two birds with one stone and gain a badass Weapon all within the same visit. The Blood of Lathander is a Mace of the Legendary Weapon rarity, giving some huge benefits to the companion who wields it. If you fall to 0 HP, this Weapon will enable you to gain 2d12 Healing once per short rest to get you back on your feet, grant a light with a 6m radius, and the addition of the Sunbeam Spell once per Long Rest.

5. House of Hope (Save Hope)

C’mon, admit it; Raphael is just the villain we all love, and love to hate at the same time. What else could you expect from a Devil? He’s charming, cunning, and manipulative as it gets, so there’s no surprise that his Final Act just so happens to be a highlight of the game. The Save Hope Quest occurs in Act 3 of the game, enabling you to travel to the House of Hope, save the imprisoned Hope, and face off against Raphael in an intense battle.

We all expected combat against Raphael to be a key moment of the game, bringing a brutal and epic fight. However, Larian Studios went above and beyond with this one, giving Raphael his own Disney Villain moment. Yes, that’s right; he sings his heart out during the combat music, creating not only one of the best fights in the game but also perhaps the best battle theme song in the entire game.

4. The High Harper

The High Harper is Jaheira’s personal Quest, which involves exploring the city of Baldur’s Gate in Act 3 and eventually recruiting Minsc as a permanent ally. Jaheira is recruited much later than most other companions, only becoming available at the end of Act 2. For this reason, Jaheira’s High Harper Quest ensures she receives at least some playtime during your run if you don’t plan on including her in your primary party composition.

Plus, having Jaheria by your side as you explore Baldur’s Gate is an awesome experience, as she’s somewhat of a famous name and face to the locals. This creates some amusing and interesting dialogue that makes the Quest feel that much more worthwhile.

3. The Thorm Siblings

Act 2 tells the captivating and twisted tale of Ketheric Thorm, leader of Moonrise Towers. While his actions are devastating due to the results that the Shadow Curse has had on many innocent lives, the tragedy hits a lot harder when you realize Ketheric damned even his siblings to suffer these effects. While technically there are three Side Quests (one for each sibling), you’ll be able to work your way through each one as part of the core story in Act 2.

The most interesting and entertaining part of these Quests is that each one of them has a different way to bypass or give you an advantage in a nasty fight against each sibling. This includes confusing and guilt-tripping the gold-hoarding Gerringothe out of existence, forcing Thisobald to drink until he explodes, or convincing Malus to turn his students against one another, allowing these encounters to stand out as some of the most unique and memorable in the game.

2. Find Dribbles the Clown

Even Baldur’s Gate 3 has a fair share of creepy clowns. During the Find Dribbles the Clown Quest, you’ll be tasked with investigating shapeshifters, and, well, murder, as this Quest is closely linked to the notorious Investigate the Murders storyline. However, this Side Quest doesn’t just stand out for being a little quirky and bizarre in comparison to others, but also for the environment in which it is set.

Circus of the Last Days is one of the best places to explore in Baldur’s Gate 3, giving you the chance to trigger plenty of hilarious animal conversations, improve your romance, and take a break from Mind Flayer shenanigans to indulge in some fun and games. While taking on this Quest, you’ll also have the opportunity to get your hands on Nyrulna (one of the best weapons in the game) by manipulating Akabi’s Jackpot, which brings yet another bonus to this grisly subplot.

1. Visit the Emperor’s Old Hideout

The Emperor in Baldur's Gate 3?

The Emperor is an enigmatic fellow through and through, that’s for sure. From acting as your savior and guiding you through the first steps of your adventure to unraveling a diabolical plan to take over the world, there is much to wonder about this individual, including if they’ve always seen things from this perspective.

Thankfully, the Visit the Emperor’s Old Hideout Quest enables you to gain at least some insight as to who the Emperor was before becoming the Mind Flayer you’re so familiar with. The Quest also involves a combat situation or two, which is useful for a small EXP boost to claw your way to the max of Level 12 if you haven’t done so already. Most importantly, though, investigating the Emperor’s hideout lets you discover some very interesting items, and gain much needed intel regarding this individual before the events of the endgame.
