Today Aniplex revealed the first two demons that will join the playable cast of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles.

They’re Akaze and Rui, and they will come with the first free update after release. Its timing has not been announced just yet.

Three more updates will come, delivering two more demons each, but it’s worth reminding that they will be playable in the versus mode only, which I guess isn’t exactly shocking.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles, will launch in Japan and Asia on October 14 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, & PC. The western release was just announced a few weeks ago and will come one day later, on October 15.

The game was developed at popular studio CyberConnect2, which is certainly used to developing games based on well-known anime.
