Today Arc System Works announced the release window of the next major update of its crossover fighting game BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle.
The announcement was made on the official Twitter account, mentioning that update 1.5 will come mid-May to consoles and PC and will bring balance adjustments equivalent to the arcade version, on top of implementing the new DLC characters.

The new characters were announced at EVO Japan 2018 including Naoto Shirogane from BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Teddy from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Seth from Under Night In-Birth Exe. Late[st] and Heart Aino from Arcana Heart 3 LoveMax Six Stars!!!!!!.
While the addition of a sixth franchise was also teased, it’s unlikely that it’ll come with this update.
If you’re unfamiliar with Arcana Heart, it’s an arcade-focused fighting game franchise that debuted in 2005. Its latest release was Arcana Heart 3 LoveMax Six Stars!!!!!! (with six exclamation marks) in 2014. Incidentally, that’s already available on Steam,
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is currently available for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. In Japan, there is also an arcade version coming, but you shouldn’t expect to play that one in the west, unless some industrious arcade owner imports a board.
Below you can see two new screenshots featuring the new characters.
