Final Fantasy VII Remake Gets Aerith Trailer, Wallpapers, & Avatars, New Event & Goodies for Japan

Square Enix just made a few announcements and reveals related to the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake for PlayStation 4.

This time around, we start with a short trailer featuring Aerith released on Twitter.

On top of that, the publisher also released new wallpapers portraying Aerith herself and social media avatars. You can check those out in the gallery and find more sizes for your desktop or smartphone on the official site.

Speaking of wallpapers, we also get to see a prototype of the PS4 theme that will be provided as a retailer-exclusive bonus if you pre-order the game on Amazon. 

Lastly, we learn that a new event will be hosted in Tokyo at the Animate store in Ikebukuro, annunced via press release.

Square Enix will exhibit Cloud’s Hardy Daytona motocycle and Buster Sword at the store from December 23 to January 31. Fans will be allowed to take a close look and even suse them as a photo spot to take pictures.

A bunch of goodies will be made available for the occasion, including an action doll portraying Sephiroth, two smartphone rings portraying Meteor and the logo of the Shinra Company, and three different sets of Makie stickers, which are a type of Japanese stickers used to decorate smartphones.

The first game of the Final Fantasy VII Remake will launch on PS4 on March 3, 2020.

No other platforms have been announced so far, but recently a new North American cover was revealed by Square Enix showcasing a mention that the game will be exclusive for a year, until March 3, 2021.

It’s likely that it’ll appear on other platforms after that deadline has expired.
