Today the house of Mario and Zelda aired a special Nintendo Direct broadcast featuring the upcoming theme park attraction Super Nintendo World.
The attraction is introduced directly by Shigeru Miyamoto, who provides a good look at what we can expect. It looks pretty neat.
It even comes with interactive features that link up with your smartphone.
Of course, we also see a gift shop with plenty of merch to syphon every yen out of your wallet.
There are the inevitable cafeteria and pop-corn available in Caramel Peach and Mushroom flavors. Interestingly, Miyamoto-san says that walking around while eating may seem rude. This is actually a little-known fact about Japan, where you really shouldn’t do that as it may bother others around you. Theme parks are indeed the exception to this unwritten rule.
Lastly, we hear that plans are in place to open Super Nintendo World at the Universal Studios parks in Orlando, Hollywood, and Singapore.
You can watch it below.
Super Nintendo World was announced all the way back in 2016 and was supposed to open in time for the 2020 Olympics. Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic hindered Nintendo and Universal Studios Japan’s plans causing a considerable delay.
That being said, I guess they’re still making that deadline, considering that the Tokyo Olympic games have also been delayed to 2021.
Recently, Universal Studios Japan announced that it will open on Thursday, February 4.
Universal Studios Japan is located in Osaka, the capital city of the Japanese region of Kansai. It can be reached from Tokyo via plane, train, and overnight buses are pretty popular since they’re cheaper (but a grueling experience, at least for me).
If you want to see more, you can check out a trailer and a music video.
