More precisely, the Free Fly Event started at 6:00 pm UTC and will end on Feb. 25 11:59 pm UTC.

In order to enjoy the event you need to register a free account on the game’s official site and then insert the code “GETINTOTHEVERSE” on this page.

You will then be able to download the alpha 3.12 client and access a bunch of ships including the Anvil Arrow, the MISC Prospector, the MISC Freelancer, The Consolidated Outland Mustang Alpha, the Drake Dragonfly, and the RSI Aurora MR.

This will give you the ability to enjoy combat, mining, and trading.

As a personal piece of advice, you should definitely install the game on a SSD if you have the chance.

In other Star Citizen news, the crowdfunding total passed $346 million, and it’s currently at $346,463,241

The number of registered accounts is also approaching three million, and it’s currently at 2,971,070.

As usual, you should keep in mind that it’s known that not all of them are paying players. The number includes free accounts created for a variety of reasons, including Free Fly events like this one.

We recently learned that 2020 was a record year for Star Citizen’s extremely successful crowdfunding campaign, shattering the previous record from 2019.

More insight about the game’s successful year and what can be expected going forward was shared by Cloud Imperium Games CEO Chris Roberts himself a few weeks ago.

If you want to learn even more, we recently saw a really lovely cinematic trailer. On top of that, we recently heard that a new studio has been opened to create new systems and content for Star Citizen.

If you’re wondering whether the game is actually fun to play, this is a good place to start.

The game’s alpha is currently playable on PC, and a star-studded single-player campaign titled Squadron 42 is in development.

For the sake of full disclosure, do keep in mind that the author of this article has been a Star Citizen backer since the original Kickstarter campaign several years ago.
