New Death Stranding Images Shared by Hideo Kojima Show Even More Equipment Variety

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Hideo Kojima has been working very hard on Death Stranding, but during breaks, he’s continuing with his little “tradition” of showing images of the game captured from the screen.

The images are particularly interesting in combination with those revealed a few days ago as they showcase a rather wide degree of variety in the equipment protagonist Sam Bridges can wear.

You can take a look at the relevant tweets below. A little additional detail can be seen in the command prompt, which appears to use two different wordings. In two of the images is “tachiagaru” while in one is “okiru.” Both basically mean “stand up” in Japanese.

Whether this has any specific meaning or the development team is simply changing the wording as development progresses, your guess is as good as mine. If I had to speculate, the second option is likely.

You can also find the images by themselves in the gallery at the bottom of the post. It’ll certainly be interesting to see what kind of gameplay effect Sam’s equipment will have. So far we do know the utility of the ladder, but the rest remains pretty much a mystery.

If you want to know more about Death Stranding, you can take a look at the latest English trailer, the Japanese version with additional footage and a different song, and a recent gallery of beautiful images.

Recently Hideo Kojima announced that he will be at San Diego Comic Con together with Danish film Director Nicolas Winding Refn.

Death Stranding is coming to PS4 on November 8, 2019.
