Today Idea Factory International announced that another of Compile Heart’s former PS4 exclusive games, Azur Lane: Crosswave, is coming to PC.
The game will launch on Valve’s storefront in 2020, and it’ll include Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and English subtitles. Of course, the audio will be in Japanese.
The PS4 version still has a generic “2020” release window as well. While the PC version will be only digital, the PS4 release will also be physical, with a spiffy limited edition available.
If you’re unfamiliar with the game, here’s a description, directly from Compile Heart.
“Azur Lane, the original mobile app game released in China in 2017 for iOS and Android platforms, reached critical acclaim in China and Japan, hitting five million players within its first four months. In Azur Lane: Crosswave, the PS4 version of this game uses the Unreal Engine and recreates the beloved Azur Lane character designs in the style of cel-shaded 3D graphics!
Azur Lane: Crosswave features a multitude of your favorite commanders in a 3D light. In the Japanese PS4 screenshot batch, we are introduced to some of the playable characters including Ayanami, Javelin, Prinz Eugen, Laffey, and Ping Hai.”
Azur Lane: Crosswave launched the Japanese shelves on August 29, 2019, only for PS4.
Recently, Compile Heart announced that it’s getting some DLC, starting with Taihou.
The coming of DLC shouldn’t surprise, considering that Azur Lane: Crosswave enjoyed one of the most successful launches ever for Compile Heart in Japan. It’ll be interesting to see if it’ll be a hit in the west as well.
If you’re unfamiliar with the original Azur Lane, it’s a free-to-play mobile horizontal scrolling shooter/RPG hybrid currently available both for iOS and Android.
