Kingdom Hearts 3 allows you to strengthen Sora in more ways than one. By upgrading his Keyblades, you can become even more powerful than before. Here’s how to get Wellspring Crystals and what they’re used for in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Where to Get Wellspring Crystals

Unlike the earlier upgrade items like Fluorite and Damascus, Wellspring Crystals are much rarer and cannot be farmed easily with the Gummi Ship. Thankfully, there are still a few ways you can farm them reliably in the game:

  • Tackling Battlegate 12 in San Fransokyo
  • Farming enemies on the Island of Luck in the Caribbean

At the moment, these seems like the only reliable and fastest methods of farming Wellspring Crystals in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Once you’ve beaten the story, you’ll be informed that Battlegates have opened up across the worlds. Battlegate 12, in particular, is located in San Fransokyo’s Northern District. Go through the Battlegate and beat the enemies there for a chance to get your Wellspring Crystals.

If you want to start farming these a little earlier, users have also reported that enemies on the Island of Luck in the Caribbean have a chance of dropping them as well.

With the Lucky Strike ability equipped on Sora, you’ll be able to increase your chances of getting the item to drop.

What Wellspring Crystals are For

Just like Fluorite, Damascus, and Adamantite, these Crystals are a synthesis material that can be used to enhance your Keyblades.

To upgrade your Keyblades, go to any Moogle Shop, select Workshop, then select Keyblade Forge. Assuming you have enough ingredients, you can then exchange them in order to strengthen your selected Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3.

They are pretty rare though, so you’ll want to use them wisely, and save them only for the Keyblades you’re planning on sticking with in the game.

That’s all you need to know about how to get Wellspring Crystals and what they’re for in Kingdom Hearts 3. Be sure to check our Kingdom Hearts 3 guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
