The developers announced Explorer Mode, which will allow players to freely explore dungeons that they have previously cleared.

In the beginning, only dungeons from the 5.x series will be included but more will be added in the future.

The dungeons in explorer mode will not have any enemies and all obstacles will be cleared.

Mount, minions, and fashion accessories will be allowed during these excursions, while striking dummies will be placeable to enable actions.

Limit breaks will also be available and you’ll be able to select between rank 1, 2, and 3.

Basically, this is going to be a roleplayers’ dream and please those who enjoy in-game photography with the gpose feature.

Below you can see screenshots taken using this mode, which will come in 5.4 alongside the features announced earlier today.

Speaking of photography, the developers have been working on a slow-motion feature for Gpose, but they’ve been encountering issues making it work.

Below you can also see a new theme for the UI showcased during the stream. I’m sure it’ll please fans of older Final Fantasy games.

We also get a status update on the Fan Festivals. All three fan festivals including the one scheduled for February on London have now been canceled. Square Enix is looking into possible new dates, locations, and methods to host an event. The publisher is considering a two-day digital global fan festival to be hosted in May 2021.

An online event will be hosted in February 2021 to announce new information. On the same day there will be a 14-hour broadcast.

A Community Finder will be launched on the official Lodestone site on October 13. It’ll allow players to find and recruit for in-game communities like Free Companies and linkshells.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PC and Square Enix recently announced that it has passed 20 million players.
