Nowadays day one patches have become quite the standard, so it shouldn’t surprise that Team Ninja is planning to implement its own, and it’s going to come with quite a few goodies partly focused on activating the bonus content for the game.

Further additions are geared towards fully unlocking and improving online gameplay.

Here is the full list.

  • Bug fixes and game balancing
  • Nyotengu, Phase 4 added (requires unlock DLC+patch to activate)
  • Lobby Match mode added
  • “Throwdown Challenge”(battle invite) feature added
  • Re-match enabled on Ranked match
  • Additional costumes  (requires unlock DLC+patch to activate)
  • Additional BGM (requires unlock DLC+patch to activate)

The mention of additional costumes should probably not get you too excited. The wording specifies they require a DLC unlock, which means that they’re simply the bonuses coming with the deluxe edition and pre-orders, exactly like Nyotengu and Phase 4.

At the moment the size of the patch has not been disclosed.

If you want to learn more about the game, you can check out a look at the customization options and costumes, more costumes from the upcoming DLC season pass, which will also include Mai Shiranui and another character from The King of Fighters.

You can also enjoy out our recent interview with Director and Producer Yohei Shimbori, and my hands-on preview of a recent build of the game.

Dead or Alive 6 has recently been slightly delayed and is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 1. The Day One patch will also launch on the same date (hence “day one”).
