Today D3 Publisher showcased its upcoming Earth Defense Force games during a livestream from Japan.
First of all, we get to see a new trailer and gameplay for the upcoming Earth Defense Force 6, which is coming by the end of 2021 and still doesn’t have an official platform.
The trailer is pretty much as wacky as you’d expect if you’re familiar with the usual trailers released for the EDF series.
The gameplay was presented directly by producer Nobuyuki Okajima.

On top of the upcoming new mainline game, we also take a look at the remaster of Earth Defense Force 2 for Nintendo Switch, which is going to launch in Japan on July 15.
At the moment, neither game has an announced western release, but D3 Publisher has been doing a good job at localizing its games, so there is certainly hope.
It’s worth mentioning that, while Earth Defense Force 6 doesn’t have any confirmed platform, PlayStation published its previous trailer, so it’s likely that it’ll at least come for PS5 or PS4.
