The trailer showcases a look at the game, that most definitely looks very much like an Earth Defense Force title, despite what appears to be a darker setting.

You’ll find pretty much the same element as usual, including tons of giant insects and assorted aliens, ruined cities, and the iconic rough graphics.

At the moment, we know only that the game will come by the end of 2021. Platforms, price, and number of players are still unannounced.

On top of that, we learn that Earth Defense Force 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch and will be released in Japan on July 15. Yes. You have heard it correctly. It’s a port of Earth Defense Two.

It will support 2-4 players both in local multiplayer and online.

Earth Defense Force 3 will also be released for Nintendo’s hybrid console in the fall of 2021.

You can check out the trailers below and see if it makes you scream “EDF! EDF! EDF!”

Earth Defense Force 6 is set three years after Earth Defense Force 5, with the situation significantly deteriorated for the EDF and Earth in general, as shown by having to mount cannons on trucks.

If you want to see more, you can check out a batch of images released last year, and another, and the first gameplay.

If you can’t wait for more Earth Defense Force, the definitely more light-hearted EDF: World Brothers is coming on May 27, 2021, for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC:
