The screenshots were revealed by the official Japanese account of the game (sources 1234, 5).

The mode prompts you to defeat a bunch of monsters in the shortest possible time (duh!). The entrance of the mode is showcased by a light in certain locations of the world.

When you enter the light, you’ll meet Nopon Daisennin that will let you choose a mission depending on your progress in the story.

There are “free” challenges that let you freely select your party and “limited” ones that have specific conditions.

After you defeat all the monsters in the mode, you will get an evaluation depending on your clear time and on the conditions of the battle. If you do well, you will receive Nopon crystals.

Those can be exchanged for equipment and gems. There are even new outfits that can be obtained this way.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition releases exclusively for Nintendo Switch on May 29, 2020.

If you want to see more, you can enjoy more images portraying the rich cast of the game, another gallery showing environments, one showing Futures Connected’s setting, one featuring its cast, a reveal about music, the latest trailer, and another about characters.
