March Community Day in Pokemon Go Will Focus on Abra

A few weeks ago, the Pokemon GO Twitter account teased the upcoming March Community Day with a mysterious image and a crystal ball emoji. Now we know, Abra will be the featured Pokemon for this event.

This is only the second time that a Psychic-type Pokemon is being featured in a Community Day event (Ralts was the first). It’s also the second time that a shiny variant of Abra will be available to add to your collection.

Very few details were announced in the official announcement, but we know for sure that catch XP will be tripled for the even and lures will last for three hours. You’ll want to save your lucky eggs until the Community Day to get an even bigger XP boost.

That means if you’re in an area that doesn’t have many Pokestops, then you can drop a lure on a single one to attract hoards of the Psi Pokemon for the length of Abra Community Day.

If you’ve played Pokemon GO during a Community Day before, then you should be familiar with the format. The Northern Hemisphere gets Community Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (local time) and the event runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (local time) in the Southern Hemisphere.

March 15 is the big day, so make sure you stock up on Abras and Abra Candies before Community Day Begins. You can see the full Twitter post from the Pokemon GO Twitter account below.
