How to Switch Weapons in Control

As you progress through the story, you’ll naturally gain access to a wide variety of weapon types through Jesse’s Service Weapon. As such, you’ll probably need to switch between them from time to time.

Once you have at least two weapon types equipped, you can easily switch between them by pressing the Square button on PS4. If you’re on Xbox One, you’ll want to press the X button instead.

This allows you to switch between your weapon types seamlessly, and ensures that you’ll always have a way to use the appropriate type for each combat encounter.

While many shooters typically assign reload to the Square/ X button, Control’s Service Weapon reloads automatically, so keep this in mind when you’re entering a fray.

Unlocking More Weapon Form Slots

Of course, you’ll need even more slots to switch between as you unlock more types in Control.

Slots can be unlocked by spending ability points in the game, and your first slot is unlocked by spending your first four ability points.

Spending points will help to strengthen Jesse as a character as you progress through the game, so make sure to do that whenever you have a chance to do so.

To sum up, here’s how you can switch weapons in Control:

  1. Press the square or X button

This lets you switch between your equipped types in the game.

  2. Spend ability points to unlock weapon form slots

By spending points, you can unlock more slots to accommodate all your forms.

That’s all you need to know about how to switch weapon types in Control. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our Control guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
