The game was played on Nintendo Switch in docked mode, and we get to see the boss battle on the roof against Marcellus. We also get to see another level, with plenty of demons slain by our protagonist Samanosuke Akechi.

While this isn’t the remake that many hoped for, it’s still nice to see Onimusha: Warlords running on a modern console, and the nostalgia is definitely strong with this one. Hopefully, it will be successful and it will prompt Capcom to consider reviving the series in a more involved way.

Onimusha: Warlords will be released in Japan about a month earlier than in the west, on Dec. 20, but Japanese gamers will be able to play it only on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The western release is scheduled for Jan. 15, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
