Resident Evil 7 Has Shipped Over 2.5 Million Copies Worldwide

Groovy.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, the latest entry in the long-running survival horror franchise, was released just this Tuesday. And it looks like everyone loves it. Capcom has just announced that the game has shipped over 2.5 million copies worldwide on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.

While the fan base generally hasn’t been very happy with the third-person action shooter style of Resident Evils 5 and 6, the dramatic shift to the first-person perspective also left some feeling worried about the direction of the series. However, the shift worked in the game’s favor, and Resident Evil 7 managed to bring back the same elements that made fans fall in love with the original games in the first place. This seventh entry also made use of Capcom’s new in-house engine, dubbed the RE Engine, making the game look extremely photorealistic for the most part.

Resident Evil 7 is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out our official review of the game here. What are your thoughts on the game so far? Feel free to let us know in the comments down below.
