With just five days to go until release, Mortal Kombat 11 got a launch trailer that uses a classic song we all know and love to bring the hype.

Released earlier this morning, this new trailer features the most expansive look at Mortal Kombat 11’s story mode and naturally, we get more of the back-and-forth banter between fighters and past versions of themselves, a novelty we don’t see getting old anytime soon.

What’s better than Johnny Cage talking to Johnny Cage?

In the trailer, we see characters like Johnny Cage, Kitana, Noob and more fighting for the fate of the world, which currently sits in the hands of Kronika as she’s trying to rewrite history as she knows it (probably to ensure she ends up on top of the world).

There’s not much in the realm of actual story beats, but there’s plenty of action interspersed within the brutal scenes depicting gameplay and as you’d expect, there’s blood and guts galore.

The trailer does give players a better look at what side each fighter is on. For example, it’s quite clear Johnny Cage is one of the good guys while characters like Baraka are clearly in favor of what Kronika is trying to do.

As you’d expect, Noob doesn’t seem to take a side — he’s simply looking for revenge on his brother.

Visuals aside, everything in the trailer is happening to the tune of the iconic synth-techno song, Test Your Might, you unashamedly love.

You can check out the gory goodness spliced together with that incredible song for yourself in the trailer below:
