We get to see a cutscene that will prove quite familiar to those who have watched the first season of the Sword Art Online Alicization anime, when we first meet Tiese and Ronye in Eugeo and Kirito’s room with our hero nowhere to be seen.

The cutscene then transitions with the usual visual novel-style dialogue scene.

You can watch it below. Incidentally, it appears that the pair will play a different (and likely greater) role in the game compared to the anime.

If you want to learn more about Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris, you can enjoy two recent gameplay trailers featuring Kirito and Asuna respectively.

You can also enjoy the original announcement trailer, the previous promotional video, more gameplay from a few months ago, the latest screenshots, the latest trailer, and even more semi-recent  gameplay.

We also have a video introducing the voice actress playing the role of the new character Medina Orthinanos, Miho Okasaki.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is coming for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2020. A firm release date has not been announced yet.
