During the Pokemon Direct this morning, it was revealed that Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield will be getting a paid expansion pass later this year that will come as two separate parts. The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra will let players meet new characters, participate in co-op raid battles to capture legendary Dynamax Pokemon, catch newly discovered Pokemon, and of course, explore brand-new areas.
The first part of the expansion, The Isle of Armor, is planned to be released towards the end of June 2020 and The Crown Tundra in the fall of 2020. The expansion pass will cost about $30 USD and will give you access to both parts of the expansion once they launch –both sets of content will be available for prepurchase later today.
Some new gorgeous artwork and other screenshots have been officially released by The Pokemon Company, so you can check those out down below, as well as the reveal trailer for the expansion pass.
During the Pokemon Direct, it was also revealed that Pokemon Home will launch sometime in February, finally allowing Sword and Shield players to bring in Pokemon from other titles such as Pokemon Let’s Go and Pokemon GO.
