Today Microsoft hosted a livestream with the developers of Microsoft Flight Simulator providing details about the upcoming World Update which will feature the USA.
Head of Microsoft Flight Sim Jorg Neuman revealed that the next free World Update will be update 7 in late November and it will include a “great digital elevation model” with resolution up to one meter and completely new aerial textures for many areas.
According to Neuman, the visual appearance of “many states” is going to be “significantly improved.”
We also hear more about the content of the update which will come with four new hand-crafted airports, Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL), Friday Harbor Airport (KFHR), Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (KDFW), and New York Stewart International Airport (KSWF). There will also be 50 points of interest and a new bush trip focused on Alaska.
During the same event, the developers also talked about the success of the simulator, defining it as a “thriving platform.”

Microsoft Flight Simulator is already available for Windows 10 and Steam. An Xbox version is also planned sometime in the next year.
