Ghost Recon Wildlands: Mercenaries is described as being an experimental eight player, free-for-all battle royale inspired game mode that will pit player versus player and AI.

Players will call for rescue, locate and reach the extraction point to attempt to be the first to aboard the chopper and escape.

The update will come free to all owners of Ghost Recon Wildlands on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Similar to Sam Fisher making his way into Ghost Recon Wildlands, this Mercenaries update will also contain a brand new skin of former Ghost leader, Cole D. Walker, played by actor Jon Bernthal. Every player that participates in the Mercenaries game mode will receive the skin for free.

Ubisoft describes in the video below that due to the overwhelming amount of support players have shown for their game, they want to give the fans one last update to show their appreciation considering the sequel, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, is launching in a few short months.

The Ghost Recon Wildlands: Mercenaries update will be available for free to all players starting July 18.
