The figure portrays the game’s protagonist Sam, and since it’s a figma, it’s likely by Max Factory.

Incidentally, if you don’t know what a “figma” is, it’s a posable action figure brand created by Max Factory which has become so popular over the years that many simply use the name as a synonym of “Japanese action figure.”

Of course, since this is just a first prototype, it’s not necessarily representative of the final product, and it’s still unpainted. That being said, it already looks very promising.

You can check out the images in full detail in the gallery below.

If you want to know more about Death Stranding, you Kojima-san is currently assembling its parts and testing the gameplay on PS4. He also made a few comments on the state of development a few weeks ago.

You can also read some semi-recent impressions by Head of Marketing and Communications Aki Saito and actor Norman Reedus, and more by Guerrilla Games Managing Director Hermen Hulst. You can check out a lovely Holiday card designed by Yoji Shinkawa, a long gameplay video from E3 2018, a trailer from last year, and another from two years ago.

For now, we know that Death Stranding is coming to PS4, and recently Hideo Kojima himself possibly teased a 2019 release, even if it’s hard to say for sure.
