PS4 Exclusive JRPG Crystar Shows Off its Heroine in Moody Opening Cutscene

Today Furyu showcased its recently-released JRPG Crystar in a brand new trailer.

The video features the opening cutscene of the game, created unsurprisingly with charming anime visuals and featuring the theme song “Can Cry” performed by Nagi Yanagi (who also lends her voice to the ending song “Re-Live.”

We get to take a long look at the game’s protagonist Rei, and we even get a glimpse of other characters, including Kokoro Fudoji, Sen Megumiba, Anamnesis, and Nanana.

The mood is certainly rather dark, considering that death and pain are relevant themes of the game, and it certainly fits the gothic-like style featured in fashion and architecture.

Crystar is actually already available in Japan exclusively for PS4, following its October 18th release. At the moment we have heard no word about a possible western release.

Furyu certainly doesn’t seem to be against releasing its games in the west, since it just launched The Caligula Effect: Overdose through the support of NIS America. We’ll have to wait and see.
