Call of Duty: WWII was revealed last month and has got a lot of gamers excited at the prospect of returning to the WWII era of warfare. More recent Call of Duty titles have focused on futuristic warfare but it seems fans are now eager to go back to a more boots on the ground experience.

No doubt a lot of the high tech gadgets and gear will be gone in WWII and players will instead have to rely on more basic weapons and equipment. A fan on Twitter asked developer Sledgehammer’s Michael Condrey whether infinite sprint, a feature found in past games, will be present in WWII, to which Condrey simply replied “Nope”.

In past games, players have often enjoyed making a lightweight class which can run through the battlefield and take out other players with their knife. It looks like that may not be an option this time around. Another fan asked if infinite sprint might be a perk one can enhance their player with. He received no answer so it is still possible.

Call of Duty: WWII looks like it is going back to the core of the series and is going for a more realistic approach. Whilst running around a battlefield is certainly fun, it’s not exactly realistic. Some fans seemed happy to see the feature removed but others expressed disappointment.

Call of Duty: WWII is set to be released on November 3 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
