Azur Lane Finally Getting Taihou, Essex, and More To Celebrate First Anniversary

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Azur Lane is continuing to evolve and Yostar is trickling down information about new content coming soon to all servers.

First of all, speaking of the English severs, we get the reveal of Taihou, Essex, and Le Téméraire.

This means that it’s our turn to enjoy the 1st Anniversary event, which should also include the submarine Albacore. Incidentally, the video below (which is a tad on the naughty side) also showcases Taihou’s skin Forbidden Feast. That appears to be the Japanese version and not the censored version for China.

Speaking of the Japanese servers, today during a dedicated livestream we got a notice that the Iron Blood-focused Divergent Chessboard event will become part of the permanent pool, and its ships will all be included in the standard banners. This means that Japanese players will get to enjoy shipgirls like Graf Zeppelin, Tirpitz, Admiral Hipper, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, and more even if they missed the event.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t extend to the English servers, because the permanent pool feature (which includes old events that won’t get reruns but can be played at any time) has not been implemented for the west yet.

Last, but not least, the Japanese servers are also getting two charming bikini skins for Ark Royal and Sussex. At the moment, we don’t know whether those will come west soon or not. At least for Georgia, that’s not likely since Georgia herself still hasn’t been released on the English servers.

Azur Lane is a free-to-play mobile horizontal scrolling shooter/RPG hybrid currently available for iOS and Android.

If you prefer console games, Compile Heart and Felistella are currently working in Japan on a brand new Azur Lane game titled Azur Lane: Crosswave, this time for PS4. It’s a very cool transition of the original game on a 3D space with action JRPG mechanic and its own story, including two original shipgirls, Suruga and Shimakaze.

Recently, we reported on a charming crossover event in collaboration with World of Warships hosted in Yokosuka, Japan.
