Today Azur Lane publisher Yostar revealed more content coming to the popular shipgirl-focused mobile game.

First of all, the English servers will get the Return of the Solomon Ranger event focused on Ryuujou, which appears to be some sort of rerun of The Solomon Ranger from last year, providing players with another chance to unlock the dragon-horned light carrier.

Ryuujou will also get a new skin, and another will come for Akashi.

Akashi’s skin is peculiar since it’s a collaboration with Sofmap. If you’re not familiar with the name, it’s a popular Japanese chain of video game stores, which is interesting since the collaboration is coming to the west as well (where Sofmap itself obviously isn’t available).

If you’re unfamiliar with Azur Lane, it’s is a free-to-play mobile horizontal scrolling shooter/RPG hybrid currently available for iOS and Android.

Currently, we’re still in the midst of an event themed after Russian/Soviet shipgirls.

If you’d like to learn more about it, you can read our recent interview with Yostar’s director of operations.

If your interest leans more towards console and PC games, Azur Lane: Crosswave  has recently been released for PS4 and PC. You should definitely read the interview we pubished a few weeks ago ago, in which Compile Heart President Norihisa Kochiwa talks in depth about the project, and check out our full review.

If you’re curious about the franchise’s popularity in Japan, you can check out my report about the recent anniversary event that pretty much literally invaded Akihabara.
