Once you get your hands on the terraforming tools in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can turn rivers into streets, cliffs into waterfalls, and much much more. One YouTuber called StephenPlays accidentally came across a glitch that allows players to reach new heights in the game, specifically the fourth elevation level, which is typically off-limits for characters.
In the YouTuber’s video down below, they explain the process of how to replicate this glitch and here are the steps in order for you to follow:
- You need a chair that you can approach from all sides, like a bench and an object that you can grab while sitting.
- Place the chair half a unit away from the thing you want to climb, like the Museum for instance. This means pushing the chair all the way up to the object and then pulling it away once.
- Grab your object and place it right against the opposite side of the chair.
- Go online and open your gates because you need a second player to make this all come together.
- Return to the chair, face the object, and hold the A button. While holding A, tell your buddy to fly in. Once the airline message displays on-screen, your character will let go of the object and will be standing through the chair, causing a glitch.
- Now, after your friend comes over, walk toward the building or cliff and you will be able to walk on top of it.
- You can do the same thing near water or any building that’s elevated, except for Resident Services for some reason.
- If you get stuck for whatever reason, you can always open up the Nook Phone and call Rescue Services for help.

Just as a warning, be careful with what you place on the top level of your island. If Nintendo decides to patch this exploit out of the game, you may lose items and that would be absolutely terrible.
Proceed with caution if you plan on messing around with this new-ly discovered glitch. If you want to check out another one, here’s a new item duplication exploit that is done via sending letters in the mail.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
