Today Atlus and Vanillaware released a large gallery of screenshots of the upcoming game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
First of all we get to see the three characters who were revealed last week, Miwako Sawatari, Kyuuta Shiba, and Tsukasa Okino.
We also get to take a look at a fourth, the little Chihiro, who is often seen together with Goto. She has a stuffed toy rabbit in a yellow bag and wear a school uniform that was also prepared by Goto himself.
We also get to see the battle part of the game and learn more of hos it works.
The goal is to defend your base from attacking monsters. You can choose a defense area and deploy up to six characters.
If the monsters manage to destroy the Homebase, it’s mission over.
When it’s your turn to strike, select a weapon and attack. There are various types of enemies including flying and ground-types. The most effective attack method varies depending on the target.
If you receive a lot of damage, you can repair. It takes some times and leaves your mecha vulnerable. You should have your character momentarily withdraw from the battlefield and then come back when the mecha is repaired.
If you destroy all the monsters, the defense succeeds. Depending on the results, you may get bonus rewards. Lore files are also unlocked by completing the related missions.
There are three different battle styles, including one dedicated to novices who want to simply enjoy the story.
There are four types of Sentinel mecha: melee, multirole, long range support, and flying.
In the gallery you can see the multirole type. which represents unit 13, 14, and 15. It can attack at close and medium range and even comes with auxiliary weapons. It’s protected by strong armor and weighs 2,200 tons.
If you want to see more, you can check out the previous gallery of screenshots, more images and artwork, another gameplay reveal, and an earlier trailer.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim releases in Japan on November 28, 2019, exclusively for PS4. A western release has also been announced a while ago, but we don’t know much about it just yet.
