Vanillaware’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim for PS4 Gets First Gorgeous Gameplay Showing Battle and More

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim

Following the reveal of the new trailer and release date of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim by Vanillaware, Atlus debuted the first battle gameplay.

The gameplay was showcased during a livestream hosted by Atlus itself, and it looks absolutely gorgeous thanks to Vanillaware’s iconic 2D art style.

We get to see two different parts of the game, the Adventure Part and the Simulation Part. The former involves walking around and talking to other characters. The latter is all about battle with mecha, and this is the first time we get to see this.

The first two videos below show the Adventure Part, while the third showcases the Simulation Part.

Interestingly, the game’s story spans multiple timeframes, set in 1945, 1985, 2025, and 2065.

If you want to see more, you can check out some video clips showing its many characters in motion, and a second batch. You can also watch a previous trailer.

Vanillaware has also been teasing another game, of which we’re supposed to hear more after the completion of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim releases in Japan on  November 28, 2019, exclusively for PS4. A western release has also been announced a while ago, but we don’t know much about it just yet. Hopefully, Atlus USA will provide an update soon enough.
