How to Get to the Clock Tower in Resident Evil 2

It wouldn’t be a Resident Evil game without a few complicated puzzles to solve along the way, and the same rings true for the Resident Evil 2 remake. Here’s how to get to the Clock Tower in Resident Evil 2.

In general, here are the steps you’ll need to take to reach the Clock Tower:

  • Get the Heart Key or Club Key.
  • Get into the Records Room and pick up the tool on the table.
  • Use the tool on the locked bookcase in the Library.
  • Move the bookcases in the Library to form a path on the third floor.
  • Cross the new path you’ve made with the bookcases and go through the door.
  • Turn right once through the door, head straight, and take the door on your right to reach the Clock Tower.

Getting into the Records Room in Resident Evil 2 goes a little differently, depending on whether you’re playing as Leon or Claire. If playing as Leon, you’ll have access to the Boiler Room right before putting out the fire on the helicopter wreckage. You’ll find the Club Key taped to a whiteboard next to the typewriter.

On the other hand, if you’re playing as Claire, you’ll have access to Chief Irons’ office instead. You can get here by activating the elevator in the Parking Garage, but you’ll need the Diamond Key from the Morgue first.

Once in the Chief’s Office, head to the Private Collection Room to pick up the Lovers’ Relief photo, and examine it to get the Heart Key.

With the relevant keys in hand, you can now enter the Records Room. With Leon, you’ll need to go through the Reception area on the first floor of the West Wing, and through the long corridor to open up the locked door with the Club Key.

With Claire, you’ll need to enter the Operations Room first, then open the other locked door with the Heart Key to get into the Records Room.

Once inside, pick up the tool on the table, then head up to the Library. Use the tool on the locked bookcase, and you’ll now be able to move it around. Facing the bookcases, move the leftmost bookcase to the right by three spaces. This will complete the path you need to take.

Now, turn left and head up the ladder, then cross the bookcases to the other side of the Library and go through the door. Take an immediate right and follow the path all the way straight to the end, then go through the door on your right. And you’ll be in the Clock Tower.

And that’s all you need to know about how to get to the Clock Tower in Resident Evil 2. Be sure to check our Resident Evil 2 guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
