A Legion is Astral Chain is basically a pet that you capture and train to fight for you. They’re always an enemy first because you obtain one after capturing an enemy during a fight. When it’s transitioned to your side, it becomes your Legion.
You can have multiple in the game but only one out at a time.
Each can equip two different abilities at any time, but you first have to learn them via the Legion Learning option in the Legion tab of the main menu.
After that, head to the abilities option to equip them.
Now that you’ve done that, during battle, hold down ZL on the Nintendo Switch controller to take control of your Legion. Then, press X or Y to use the move assigned to each button respectively.
Ability assigned to X | Ability assigned to Y |
Press X on Switch Controller | Press Y on Switch Controller |
As a tip, when you use one of these moves, your character will usually stop for a second which leaves you open for an attack. It’s not any longer that a second and you’ll gain control back quickly, but it’s important to note for rare situations where you might be one hit away from death.
