Brooklyn Nine-Nine Backstreet Boys Scene Recreated in Animal Crossing

Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s hilarious scene of a police station’s suspect line-up singing ‘I Want it That Way’ by 90’s staple boy band the Backstreet Boys has been recreated in both adorable and well-detailed fashion in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

While the normal video/scene looks something like this, with Andy Samberg’s Jake Peralta having a line-up sing the song so the victim can identify the singer as its all she has to go on:

Youtuber dclemente took it upon themselves to make it slightly more cute while still keeping the original clip’s audio. The video uses Animal Crossing villagers Raymond to fill in for Jake and Pashmina for the victim:

While this isn’t the first time someone has used Animal Crossing for this exact purpose, dclemente nails the atmosphere and the look of the scene. Even tweaking the emotions of the individual villagers in the line-up is expertly done.

The recreation of Johto alone reveals the potential of limitless creation in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Whether it be a scene from a show, of the aesthetics of something nostalgic, there’s something for everyone to want to make for themselves, which is nice to see.
