Dragon Quest Creator Yuji Horii talked about his future plans in a new year message on Twitter.
The tweet includes a new year card that mentions the series’ achievements for 2019: among them we see the Dragon Quest movie, Dragon Quest XI S for Nintendo Switch, and Dragon Quest Walk, on top of the announcerment of the new Dai no Daibouken anime and game.
He then mentions that after 33 years, he’s happy to still be able to challenge something new, like “making 12.”
Horii-san then thanks the users who supported the series and the staff members who worked on it. He doesn’t know how long he can continue, but he wants to do it for a while longer.
On top of the card, he writes in the tweet that in addition to what he listed, there are some things he can’t talk about yet. While 12 is still a ways ahead in the future, some of these unsaid things may be released before.
Of course, the wording suggests that this is on top of the Dai no Daibouken game mentioned above, even if there is no further indication on the nature of what Horii-san is teasing.
